Ladies Football: St. Dominic’s minor ladies met Clann na nGael in the Division 1A Championship final on Friday evening last. Having achieved a win over Clann in the round stages they knew Clann were not going to be an easy game and indeed our ladies faced a very strong Clann na nGael side. The victory went to Clann and understandably the St. Dominic’s girls were visibly upset at the final whistle, however they gave it their all and are great ambassadors for their club. Their parents can be very proud. With such a young panel of minors there is great hope for the Championship next year. A huge thank you to the girls, also to Padraig and Noel and indeed the fantastic crowd of supporters that came along to cheer on the girls. Panel on the day: E.Silke, R.Dolan, E.McNally, S.Casey, A.Walsh, M.Dervin, A.Corcoran, R.Corcoran, J.Healy, A.O’Connor, C.Corcoran, A.O’Meara, A.Gavin, C. McIntyre, S.Cassidy, T.Hegarty, L.Conroy, F.Hoare, T.Kenny. At the end of July it was announced that St. Dominic’s were one of 150 clubs to €1,000 in the recent Lidil Ireland store competition. On Saturday evening representatives of St.Dominic’s Ladies Football club turned up to collect their cheque from Lidil Roscommon. Thank you to all who were involved on the day.

Minor Hurling:  Well done to our St. Dominic’s U-8/U-10 hurlers who enjoyed themselves at the County Hurling Blitz in Lisnamult on Saturday last. Training continues for our U-12 boys as they prepare for their semi-final, details to be sent out as usual. The U-16 boys trained on Sunday morning last with their next game due to be played Wednesday 28th away to Padraig Pearses, details to be confirmed, thank you.
