Scor: Comhghairdeas to St. Dominics Ballad Group on winning the Scór Sinsear Connaught final on Saturday last in Tubbercurry. The ballad group of: Noel Dervan, David Mc Cormack, Sylvia Kilcline, Anita O’Keefe and Mary Kenny gave an entertaining performance of ‘Reasons to leave’ and ‘Fields of Glory’. Their captivating arrangement went down a treat with both audience and adjudicators. This is a remarkable achievement for the club and we look forward to the Scór Sinsear All Ireland on the 25th of April in the Citywest. Senior Football: Training continues on Wednesday and Friday for all footballers. Our next matches are – Division 4 League against Strokestown on this Friday 3rd April (Good Friday) at 6.30pm in Strokestown. In the O’Gara Cup we play Fuerty on Easter Monday 6th April in Knockcroghery at 2.30pm.
Senior Hurling: Training for senior hurling is on Tuesday nights at 8pm. The team has been going well so far this year. The next match is in the Sean Keane Cup versus Athleague in Athleague at 4:30pm on Good Friday, 3rd April.
Camogie: Under 8 and Under 10 indoor training continues in St John’s Community Centre on Thursday evenings at 6.15pm. All welcome. Best of luck to our Under 14 team who will play Athleague at 6.30pm on Wednesday evening in Athleague. Training continues on Monday evenings at 7.30pm. All welcome. Training for our Hodson Bay sponsored Senior Team is on Saturdays at 6.30pm and Mondays at 8pm. All players are asked to attend. Tickets for Dinner Dance are available from Claire Creaven at a cost of €30. The Senior Camogie team that won the All-Ireland Sevens Plate title are guests of honour. Ladies Football: The Juniors next game is the Adult League, Round 3 clash away to Padraig Pearses on Easter Sunday. The U16s played Padraig Pearses on Sunday last in Knockcroghery. It was a close hard battle with the sides all even on three points each at half time. The second half was equally close but the Dominic’s girls were more accurate in converting their goal chances. The game ended, St. Dominic’s 3-04 to Pearses 1-05 – a five point win for the home side. The U16s next game is on EasterSunday away to St. Marys. U12 and U14 training continued last week. The U12s first game is the Championship Round 1 game away to Clann na nGael on Sunday 12thApril. The U14s first game is the Féile Quarter Final, away to St. Faithleachs on the following Wednesday, 15th April. Well done to all the St. Dominic’s players who were playing with the very successful County Ladies Football teams over the weekend. On Saturday Aimee O’ Connor, Aisling Walsh, Savannah Cassidy, Emma Silke, Chloe McDonnell and Ava Sweeney and the Roscommon County U14 team played Mayo in the first round of the Connacht U14 Championship in Swinford. The Roscommon girls took the win with a 3-07 to 1-08 scoreline. Niamh Watson, Caroline Dowling and the Roscommon adult team took on Fermanagh in Round 6 of the Tesco Homegrown League on Sunday last in Mulhern Park, Fuerty. The sides were all even at half time but a very strong performance from the Roscommon girls in the second half resulted in a 3-15 to 1-09 win for the Rossies – well done all.
