Senior Football: This week in Division 4 we play Roscommon Gaels on Wednesday 22nd July at 8pm in Knockcroghery and in the O’Gara Cup we play Creggs on Sunday 26th July at 1pm in Creggs. O’Gara Football League: St. Dominics lost out by one point to Kilmore on Sunday last in Knockcroghery 0-15 to 2-8. Kilmore started the more determined and led by 3 points after seven minutes but Dominics then settled and despite losing Michael Finneran to injury, trailed by just 0-6 to 0-3 at the break. Kilmore were the better side in the second half scoring some great long range points. Senior Hurling: The U-21 hurlers are playing Padraig Pearses in the County Final on Tuesday evening 21st July at 7:30pm in Athleague. The lads had a good win against Athleague-Tremane in the semi-final and are in good form heading into the final. Please come over and support the lads and cheer them on. The Claypipe Bar senior team play Athleague in the second round of the championship on Friday evening next in Athleague at 7:30pm. The team are in good shape going into this one after a good win against Oran in round one. The club would like to wish Padraig Beirne and Kelly Gallagher the best of luck for their upcoming wedding at the weekend and wish them all the best for the future.
Camogie: Training resumes this week for the U8’s and U10’S on Thursday evening at 7pm on the back pitch. The next U8 blitz is on Saturday, August 8th in Tulsk. The next U-10 blitz is this Friday, 24th July in Four Roads. Spare hurls and helmets are available from the club for those who wish to try out camogie for a few sessions before buying their own. The U-12 team played two matches in the past week. They started their season off last Monday evening with a great win over Oran on a score line of 6-2 to 0-1. The girls played well and kept going until the end. Scores from Anna Campbell, Niamh Fitzgerald, Rose Appleby and Natasha Kennan secured the win for St. Dominic’s. The captain for the day was Katie Lohan. The Knockcroghery girls were quick to score early in the game and this lead gave them a great boost in the first half. Ladies Football: Well done to all our U-8 and U-10 ladies on a great turnout and superb play in last Friday evening’s games against Clann na nGael. Our next series of games take place Saturday 25th at St. Dominic’s pitch against St. Ciarans, 10.00am start. It is a great chance to watch our stars of the future putting all their skills into practice and have great FUN at the same time. Training continues for our U-12 ladies Tuesday from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and Thursday 6.00pm to 7.00pm, weather permitting.
